On a hill above the sea, like a proud master on the spot where Krk island reached closest to the sea, lies the town of Omišalj. Much has remained from the Middle Age town of glagolithic priests (they wrote in old Slavic alphabet). Especially attractive are: a town square, and a small square Cmiter with several architectural styles connected in a harmonius millenium course. Parish church, with its facade and a unique rosette made from one piece of stone, is a true historical monument.
Nearby Omišalj is town of Njivice, once a small fishermen's village which developed into a real tourist centre.
