Heritage, Wine, Food

Abundant water springs were particularly popular with early settlers, especially the Liburnian-Roman settlers called the Arauzonians whose life is traced from the 4th century BC until the 3rd century AD. At the foot of the town is a Roman structure for collecting rainwater, still used by locals for cattle and watering gardens.

There are several churches, residential and commercial building, the Čorićev tower built in 1646 and supported by high walls.

The best choice is the traditional Mediterranean cuisine. The food is prepared using locally grown products and fish caught by local fishermen. Local white and red wines are worth trying, especially the dessert wine 'maraština', a specialty of Vodice.
